Welcome to the Department of Horticulture and Biotechnology at the Chinese Culture University. The University was founded in 1962. The Department of Horticulture was established in 1966, and the foremost class of our students was recruited in 1967 as four-year program for bachelor degree in the College of Agriculture. With the rapid development of biotechnology, horticultural science has entered a new era. As the teaching and research of modern horticultural science has mostly incorporated with biotechnology-related content and orientation, the Department has been renamed as "Department of Horticulture and Biotechnology" approved by the Ministry of Education in 2006. Since then, the Department has been one of the most comprehensive horticultural teaching, research, and advancement institutes in Taiwan, highly respected for her distinguished academic accomplishments, diversity of courses offered, and elite community of faculty, staff, and students. So far, there are more than 2,000 graduates, who have been widely distributing in Taiwan and worldwide and working in horticultural industry, private enterprise, farmers' association and corporate groups, government, academia, research units, and farmhand, as well as successful in operating self-own businesses, nursery, gardening, seeding, trading, marketing, plant breeding, landscape engineering, leisure agriculture, etc. Proudly, many of our graduates have received outstanding awards for farming, such as Shen-Known Prize and 100 Best Farmers. Currently, the Department is recruiting and promoting international students for joining or visiting us.
